Renew is a truly unprecedented multi-racial, regional coalition across the six New England states. The coalition – which now includes more than 150 organizations – has brought together environmental justice advocates, frontline communities, Indigenous tribes, labor unions, racial justice organizations, and youth groups.
Here in Rhode Island, a Steering Committee of organizations, including The People's Port Authority, George Wiley Center, Carpenters Union Local 330, Sunrise Providence, Providence’s Racial and Economic Justice Committee, and the Environmental Justice League of RI, have been meeting since the beginning of 2020 to develop a legislative agenda and advocacy plan for 2021.
